Aircraft Maintenance Avionics Technician

Requirements & Responsibilities

  • This position requires a minimum of 2 years aircraft avionics experience, A&P license and FCC license is preferred.
  • The Aircraft Maintenance Avionics Technician reports to the Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician to whom they are assigned.
  • At all times, will represent self and GSTS in a professional, ethical manner, and will abide by and enforce GSTS personnel and safety policies.
  • Will follow and subscribe to GSTS drug and substance abuse policies.
  • General schedule for this position will entail 20 days on 10 days off with the first and last day off being travel days to the employee’s home. The role includes 90%-100% of duty time traveling.  Travel expenses for full time employees for on duty work time will be paid by the company, along with hotels and meals.

Duties

  • Aircraft Maintenance Avionics Technicians working on aircraft, components, or related parts of aircraft perform, work outlined on applicable work forms in accordance with GP&P procedures, manufacturer’s manuals, and FAA requirements to assure that all work is accomplished in a safe and airworthy manner.
  • Primary duties are troubleshooting of avionics and electrical systems. Knowledge of ARINC data buss systems required.
  • Aircraft Maintenance Avionics Technicians shall make the Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician aware if they are exposed to a new and/or unfamiliar task.
  • Sign for accomplishment of work on applicable work forms and records, and reviews forms and records to ensure entries are made in accordance with the Company’s GP&P procedures.
  • Ensures all authorizations are current when accomplishing tasks requiring company granted authorizations.
  • Keeps work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
  • Proper execution of a Maintenance Release.
  • Responsible for proper tool and material control.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician.
